Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

The more I embraced my own and surrounded myself with Queerness, the more I noticed the default for everything in life to be 'hetero-til-proved-otherwise' especially, weddings. The first same-sex wedding I performed at this year, I felt myself relax. It was the BEST DAY, the stereotype may be right on this one, we know how to throw a party. The room was filled with acceptance and fun and I felt extra proud to be a part of their day. Being a part of anyone's big day is a huge privilege, but there is an added special feeling being part of a Queer wedding. The history, everything we have overcome/still face, the defiance, it's an extra important day...and I want more of it 🖤

Allyship

I think we can always do more, to me it's about willingness to learn and evolve. Using somebody's correct pronouns, not leaning into corporate pinkwashing, educating myself. Respecting the history of what events/who got us where we are today and what still needs to change. Being proudly open about pansexuality and being in a long-term partnership with someone who recently came out as non-binary, especially on the vintage scene (I perform at 1940s events, and vintage weekends) where the stereotype can be very straight.
