What do you offer?

Hi I’m Emma Katherine (she/her), creating enchanting vocals for magical moments. From Etta James to Chappell Roan - via Disney and musical theatre, if that's your thing - I sing live for weddings and events, with a range of packages all tailored to your day. If your song isn't in my repertoire yet, I'll learn it, no extra charge.

And I love a secret. Together we can weave voice recordings and little surprises into your day - a hidden message from someone you love revealed just before you walk down the aisle, a recording from your people mixed into your music, a song nobody saw coming.

One of my to-be-weds asked me to put a secret recording together with the music and it was ready within hours, a keepsake she says she treasures forever.

My couples really do say it best: "you set the tone, you became the vibe" and that there wasn't a dry eye in the room before the ceremony had even started. I capture photos and videos along the way too, the little moments your own day moves too fast for. My job is simple: to create the memories you and your guests will still be talking about decades from now.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

Because it's my community. I'm a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, and I've experienced discrimination first-hand - and no one deserves that on any day, least of all their wedding day. The wedding industry can still be painfully heteronormative, built around a bride-and-groom mold that so many nearlyweds simply don't fit. 

It's why I recreate songs to be gender neutral, because you shouldn't have to settle for "close enough" on the most important day of your life. The lyrics of your first dance should fit your love story: no awkward pronoun workarounds, no quietly skipping the line that doesn't apply. Just your song, sung the way it always should have been.

Allyship

Being part of the community doesn't mean the work stops. I show up for the whole of it, actively and constantly. My pronouns are on my website, in my email signature, and across all my socials. I keep educating myself, reading non-fiction about LGBTQ+ history and following activists so I stay connected to what's happening in our community right now. I write to my MP regularly about the issues we face, share educational content on my socials, and I never shy away from the awkward conversations. I will never stop fighting for people to let go of their prejudices, on stage and off.
