Lee Robert's Kitchen
What do you offer?
With 25 years cooking experience, I offer an elevated dining experience, using the highest quality suppliers. Everything is homemade from scratch and tailored to my clients personal needs and requirements.
Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?
As a gay man who recently (3 years ago) got married, I feel it is extremly important for the community to feel included and seen, especially on the most important day of their life. To be part of such a monumental day, when clients are already nervous and full of mixed emotions, I feel I can offer clients the piece of mind and the comfort from knowing they are getting the highest quality service and that their catering needs are in safe hands. From enquiry to fruition, I want my fellow LGBTQ+ community to experience a service that is judgement free and bespoke to their needs.
Allyship
I am a proud and respectful member of the LGBTQ+ community and will always stand up for what I believe is right and wrong, never one to shy away from anyone being disrespectful to any member of our community. I also currently work at the Houses of Parliament as security, wearing my rainbow lanyard proudly around such a prominent building comes with risks but one I am willing to take. I am also part of their LGBTQ+ group called ParliOut, as a representative of the community and how we can make it a safer place for those who are LGBTQ+. I attend Pride marches, even though we have come so far, we still have a long way to go and can't be complacent.
I have recently started working with Stonewall Housing and will soon be attending safe houses to offer free cooking classes with residents, hopefully this will give them more confidence and someone to chat to, offering them some moral support. Once we have the right model set up I will be sharing this more on my social media pages and highlighting the issues we face regarding homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community.
don't forget to let me know that you found me on Rebel Love Directory!
