What do you offer?
Hello my loves,
I'm Frances (She/Her), and not to sound too keen, but I want to marry you!
I'm a London-based independent wedding celebrant (but happy to travel).
If you hate the idea of someone you have never met before turning up on your wedding day to bore you and your guests with the same old tired scripted wedding ceremony, then you've come to the right place...
As your Celebrant, I bring a blend of enthusiasm, creativity, inclusivity and organisation to ensure your special day is unforgettable!
🪩 My ceremonies are fun, lighthearted but heartwarming. So if you want your guests to laugh through tears, I'm your gal.
🪩 I love talking to people and am fascinated by their stories. I will take the time in the months (or years) leading up to your big day, becoming pals and listening to you spill the tea. I'll get to really understand who you are as individuals, in your relationship and what's really important to you for your ceremony. I can also chat to friends and family to get even more of an insight.
🪩 I love dreaming up out-of-the-box concepts and storytelling styles to add extra sprinkles of creativity to your big day.
🪩 As an English Lit grad and culture vulture, I love creative writing and drawing inspiration from literature, film, music, and pop culture. Whether you love Lord of the Rings, or are a massive swiftie (I'm guilty of both- Basic? I know), I’ll weave the perfect personal touches into your ceremony script, and help you find the perfect readings, music or symbolic elements that work for you.
🪩 With a background in project planning, and experience in events planning, you can rest assured that I'll be on top of the logistics the day. I will liaise with the venue, photographer and other suppliers, and will be there early to make sure the ceremony runs smoothly.
🪩 I'm a lot of fun and will be (almost) as excited about your wedding as you are. My enthusiasm for you and your wedding will be infused into your ceremony!
Want to know what to expect? Let's hear it from one of my lovely couples:
'Ok, I don’t think my review will do Frances justice but we’re so thankful she was part of our wedding. Not only did she help us craft THE PERFECT ceremony for us, she also wrote the most lovely script for it and had most of our guests laughing through tears the whole time - the perfect mix of lols and tissues . She helped make our day so special and unique and got on with all our friends and family there like she’d been around for years. We cannot recommend her enough.
Thank you so much, Frances.
Signed: Your new BFFs xx'

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?
I bloody love being queer and being part of this amazing community, full of openness and joy. As such, it's really important to me to make sure that all my LGBTQ+ babes feel represented in an industry that can feel like a sea of heteronormativity.
When planning your special day should be a joyful experience, and you shouldn't feel anxious about working with wedding suppliers that don't 'get' you or your relationship.
I want to work with you to get to know you and to tell your story in all its queer glory!
Allyship
I'm very open about identifying as queer on my business website and socials. In my first interactions and in my website contact form, I always ask for preferred pronouns, and make sure mine are visible. I use inclusive language on my website and socials and avoid gendered terms like bride and groom altogether unless I'm referring to specific couples who identify as such. I also love using my Instagram stories to promote other LGBTQ+/inclusive wedding businesses and share LGBTQ+ weddings to give nearlyweds some great inspo . I often use my online presence to speak up on LGBTQ+ issues, which is increasingly important in the current (horrendous) political climate.
I also make it clear on my website that I will turn down couples if I get a hint of homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism or any other bigotry because we most certainly will not be a good fit.
As well as weddings, I offer baby namings, adoption ceremonies, and also adult renaming ceremonies. I hope in seeing this, LGBTQ+ clients will be confident that I will welcome them in whatever their needs are.
I live in London so in terms of everyday life I'm so I'm lucky to be surrounded by amazing queer spaces and community events and I love supporting queer venues, comedians and drag artists. In previous workplaces I've also headed up the LGBTQ+ initiatives, organising pride events and awareness campaigns.
All of this being said I am aware that I am a straight-passing cis woman, and that affords me a certain amount of privilege. As such, I'm always looking to actively learn about how I can best support the community that I love.
don't forget to let me know that you found me on Rebel Love Directory!
