What do you offer?
The Badge Cafe craft table helps your guests relax, create and connect by making unique badges out of old books and mags. We can incorporate your own pictures and themes too. It's a great icebreaker, a different kind of social space, and a great way to make a bespoke handmade memento of the big day.
Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?
Badge Cafe began as a pop-up stand at legendary queer night Duckie - LGBTQ+ celebration is what we're all about! Its creator and director, Ben Walters, is queer, and the format comes out of research into how creative activities can support LGBTQ+ wellbeing and queer community cohesion. Our diverse team is made up of young trans and non-binary people who started as Badge Cafe regulars. We're all passionate about creativity, connection across difference and queer fun.
Allyship
At Badge Cafe we're committed to intersectional solidarity within LGBTQ+ communities and across other contexts of erasure, exclusion and oppression. We draw on our own lived experience to refine and deliver a service that is as welcoming, accessible and easy as possible. We welcome the chance to learn what feels safe, comfortable and exciting for you and tailor our contribution accordingly.
