What do you offer?
I'm a nature-friendly, sustainable flower farmer and florist, growing and arranging your flowers for your ceremony and reception - no matter what that looks like. The flower trade is highly unethical and unsustainable, and at Verde, we provide an alternative that gives you the joy and colour and whimsy that you want from your flowers but with a minimal carbon and biodiversity impact.
Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?
I am a queer florist and flower farmer based in the North East, and want to offer my services to other queer consumers like myself so that everyone feels safe, catered to, and joyful for their wedding celebrations.
Allyship
Being an ally to others in the LGBTQIA+ community is at a basic level about using the correct pronouns, attending trans-rights protests and sharing important campaigning tools via social media, but I also run a national youth organisation where I work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, as well as running a national farming education project (AgDiversity) on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with a particular focus on being queer and neurodivergent. I believe that my actions as a truly intersectional ally need to be visible in spaces where queer people are afraid to be open, to provide representation and joy - and that is a huge issue in the farming space where I use my voice as a trustee for a national farming charity, as well as in talks, webinars and on social media.
I work with LGBTQIA+ couples as a florist already, and have work in my profile displaying this but increasingly want to be able to serve my own community more by providing more examples of this both on my own website, as well as social media. Allyship also looks to me like standing up for my trans brothers and sisters both online, in-person and at marches, which is something I am dedicated to.
don't forget to let me know that you found me on Rebel Love Directory!
