What do you offer?

Fresh Eye Weddings offers unposed, documentary-style photography, videography, and hybrid packages that capture real moments authentically. As a queer-owned business, I create a safe and inclusive space where every couple feels comfortable, celebrated, and truly seen. I offer photography, videography and a hybrid of both.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

As both a wedding photographer and videographer, and as someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I know how important it is for couples to feel safe, seen, and comfortable with the people who are capturing their day. Too often, LGBTQ+ couples are underrepresented in the wedding industry, and I want to help change that by creating inclusive spaces and celebrating diverse love stories through my work.

I want every couple to feel confident that their identity will be respected and reflected authentically in their wedding images and films. Representation matters, and being able to contribute to greater visibility for LGBTQ+ weddings is something I feel proud to offer through Fresh Eye Weddings.

Allyship

Being LGBTQ+ myself gives me perspective, but allyship is about action.

In my work and daily life I actively advocate for inclusion and representation.

Some examples include:

• Professional Advocacy: Alongside my wedding work, I’m a stage manager working closely with a non-binary beatboxer and currently involved in a project in its R&D phase made up entirely of trans and non-binary performers. Supporting their voices and stories on stage has strengthened my understanding of visibility and allyship in practice.

• Everyday Advocacy: I consistently respect and use people’s pronouns, speak up when I hear exclusionary language, and aim to create safe environments both personally and professionally.

• Industry Representation: I am committed to growing LGBTQ+ visibility within wedding photography and videography, and I am working towards making Fresh Eye Weddings an exclusively LGBTQ+ business within the next two years. I believe the industry needs more visible representation, and I want to be part of that change.

• Practical Action: I currently offer an exclusive 20% discount for LGBTQ+ couples who are comfortable with me using their images in my portfolio, to help increase visual representation and ensure future couples can see themselves reflected in my work.

In Fresh Eye Weddings, inclusivity isn’t an afterthought - it’s built into the way I work with every couple.

Some of the ways I ensure LGBTQ+ people feel represented and included are:

• Inclusive Language: I avoid gendered terms like “bride and groom” and instead use words such as “partner” and “couple.” I ask for pronouns and use these correctly across all communication and contracts

• Representation in My Portfolio: I was proud to photograph Kirsty and Hen as my first LGBTQ+ wedding couple, where one partner identifies as non-binary. Their day, and their wedding party, were captured with care and respect, and their images are helping to bring greater visibility to non-binary and same-sex weddings in my work.

• Safe & Supportive Approach: I create a judgment-free environment where couples can be themselves without worry. This extends from the first enquiry, through the planning process, and on the day itself.

• Ongoing Commitment: I actively promote LGBTQ+ visibility on my website and in my marketing, and I ensure my galleries and posts represent a diversity of couples so that future clients see that they will be welcomed and celebrated too.
