Why Our Wedding Fair Stand Fees Cost What They Do

And why they’re worth every penny for you, your business, and our community.
Running an inclusive, identity-affirming wedding fair isn’t the same as running a mainstream event - not even close. As a Queer-led organisation creating space for LGBTQ+ love to thrive, we operate in a completely different social landscape to the average cis-het wedding fair. That means our costs, our labour, and the barriers we face are different too.
A couple of suppliers have recently asked why our stand fees are higher than some other fairs. So we wanted to be transparent about what actually goes into creating a Rebel Love Wedding Fair, because once you see behind the scenes, it becomes crystal clear that you’re not just paying for a table in a room. You’re investing in safety, representation, community, and opportunities that simply don’t exist anywhere else.
1. Advertising to the LGBTQ+ community is expensive, because the world keeps trying to silence us
Social media platforms do not play fair when it comes to Queer content. Homophobia and transphobia - fuelled by governments, press narratives and right-wing rhetoric - mean our ads are rejected more often, reach fewer people, and cost significantly more. To even get our brand in front of LGBTQ+ to-be-weds, we have to spend far more than mainstream fairs who market to a comfortable cis-het majority.
You’re not just paying for advertising - you’re paying for us to fight an algorithm stacked against our very existence.
2. We do more outreach than any wedding fair you’ve ever met
Because the Queer community is pushed to the margins, we can’t rely on passive marketing. We spend countless hours reaching out directly to LGBTQ+ couples/lovers and suppliers - far more than a typical fair ever needs to. We don’t get access to the same “ready-made audience” other fairs tap into.
This is grassroots work. Community work. Labour that goes above and beyond.
3. Every exhibitor receives FREE LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Training (worth £189)
Included in your stand fee is a full training session designed to make sure every supplier in the room is safe, knowledgeable, and Queer-affirming. Once you've completed the training you receive a certified LGBTQ+ Inclusive Supplier certificate from us! We host 2-3 sessions across different days and times, up to nine hours of our time , to ensure everyone can attend.
No other fair offers anything like this. And honestly? They should.
4. We shield you (and our to-be-weds) from the daily reality of online hate
You don’t see the homophobic and transphobic comments we delete. You don’t hear the messages we remove. You don’t witness the emotional labour we carry so our audience - and you - only experience joy, safety, and celebration.
That labour is invisible, but it is constant.
5. You were curated - lovingly and intentionally
We receive hundreds of applications. Only around one-fifth of those get accepted.
We spend hours reviewing your websites, social media, language, imagery, and ethics. We read every application thoroughly. We’re not looking for “good enough.” We’re looking for suppliers who will genuinely honour our community.
Your acceptance isn’t random. It’s earned.
6. We pay for LGBTQ+-led security to keep everyone safe
Queer events are targeted more often. That’s the reality. We invest in specialist LGBTQ+-led safety teams because nothing matters more than making sure our couples & lovers, our suppliers, and our team walk through those doors knowing they are protected.
This is a cost mainstream fairs rarely, if ever, have to consider.
7. You’re not just exhibiting - you’re networking with the most inclusive suppliers in the UK
Your community of colleagues matters. Being surrounded by other intentionally inclusive suppliers strengthens your brand, your referrals, your reputation, and your future clients.
We’ve done the heavy lifting to bring those suppliers together in one room. The connections alone are priceless.
8. The value of your stand goes far beyond the event day
A wedding fair isn’t a quick in-and-out transaction - it’s long-term marketing. Many bookings come 6, 12, even 24 months down the line. Queer couples & lovers often take longer to choose suppliers because they’re searching for genuine safety, not just a vibe.
If you’re strategic about lead capture, follow-up, and relationship building, the return is enormous.
9. Showing up here is an act of allyship, and it matters
By exhibiting at Rebel Love Wedding Fair, you’re doing far more than promoting your business. You’re telling LGBTQ+ to-be-weds:
“You belong here. Your love is valid. There is space for you in this industry.”
You are helping Queer people see themselves reflected in wedding inspiration they never saw growing up. That alone is transformative.
This fair isn’t about “the pink pound.”It’s about visibility, representation, joy, and the future of our community.
In short…
Our stand fees reflect the true cost of creating a safe, inclusive, joyful, defiant Queer wedding fair in a world that isn’t always kind to us. They cover hours of labour you never see, protections you never have to worry about, and community-building that benefits us all.
And what you get in return isn’t just a stand - it’s impact, connection, and a place in a movement bigger than any single wedding.
If you’re part of Rebel Love Wedding Fair, you’re part of something powerful. And we are so grateful you’re here with us.
