What do you offer?

I'm Laura (she/her), an award-winning wedding videographer based in Loughborough, making natural wedding films that celebrate exactly who you are. I work across Leicestershire, the Midlands, and beyond, and I care deeply about making the whole experience feel easy, inclusive, and incredibly joyful.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

As an LGBTQ+ wedding videographer and someone who has planned my own queer wedding in the past few years, I've witnessed what poor levels of service queer couples can experience during wedding planning and on their actual wedding day too. I am determined that these experiences should no longer happen, and truly believe that having queer wedding suppliers and genuine allies present on your wedding day, celebrating you for exactly who you are, is the most wonderful, warm and affirming feeling. Its a day that you will watch back with a fuzzy feeling, and is what life is all about.

Allyship

I am a proud liberal lefty, I harass my MP with petitions, and I always challenge all forms of discrimination where I find it. I don't pretend that I have all the answers - I'm on a learning journey too and try and assess and check my cis, white and able bodied privilege also. When myself and my wife married at a local village hall, we asked the charity of trustees board who run the venue to change the gendered toilet signs to gender neutral permanently, as we had trans and non-binary guests attending, and they did. That was a proud moment for us.

I have always used inclusive, non-gendered language on all touchpoints within my business, and offered the option for couples to provide pronouns in my forms, should they wish to do so. I treat people equally, celebrate them for who they are in my wedding films, and offer a safe space for all my couples. And I never make any assumptions about my couples or what their wedding day might look like. I am genuinely excited to hear about what you're planning for your wedding day! I studied a degree in the History of Art over 20 years ago so I have a keen interest in gender studies, queer representation and what it means to be reperesented, so this is something I take very seriously and have done for a long time. I also celebrate queer couples all year and not just during Pride Month - obviously!
