Who the Rebel Love Wedding Fair Is (and Isn’t) For

The wedding industry loves to talk about “love is love”… but rarely does it take action to create spaces where LGBTQ+ people actually feel safe, represented, and celebrated. That’s why we created the Rebel Love Wedding Fair - a space intentionally built for LGBTQ+ to-be-weds and shaped by the suppliers who want to do better.

Because planning a wedding should never be stressful because of your identity. It should never require scanning a supplier’s social media for rainbow crumbs. And it should never feel like stepping into a space where you can’t be fully yourself.

So let’s talk honestly about who this fair (and our supplier directory) is for - and who it’s not.

Doors wide open to Rebel Love Wedding Fair - the UKs first truly LGBTQ+ Inclusive Wedding Fair

Who the Rebel Love Wedding Fair Is For (suppliers)

1. Suppliers who acknowledge the lack of diversity and inclusion within the wedding industry

If you recognise that the wedding world has been shaped by decades of cis-het norms, Eurocentric beauty standards, racial biases, fatphobia, ableism and gatekeeping… then you’re already doing the vital first step: noticing. Our fair is for suppliers who don’t shy away from that truth - they face it, learn from it, and choose to be part of the change.

2. Suppliers who understand that most LGBTQ+ people do not feel represented or safe in mainstream wedding spaces

Studies, forums, and countless lived experiences show a pattern: LGBTQ+ couples & lovers often feel scrutinised, misunderstood, or completely invisible when planning their weddings. Rebel Love is for suppliers who see that reality and want to actively build safer, affirming alternatives.

3. Suppliers who want to create truly safe, welcoming, identity-affirming experiences for LGBTQ+ to-be-weds

Not a rainbow in June. Not a token queer couple on one Instagram post.Real safety.Real representation.Real care. Our fair is filled with suppliers who understand the responsibility - and the privilege - of holding space for LGBTQ+ people and their intersecting identities with compassion, respect, and authenticity.

WHO THE REBEL LOVE WEDDING FAIR IS FOR (TO-BE-WEDS)

1. LGBTQ+ to-be-weds looking for a safe, affirming wedding planning experience

This fair is built for you.For the couples who want to walk into a room and know, instantly, that it’s safe to hold hands, share your pronouns, talk about your wedding without gendered assumptions, and be met with warmth rather than hesitation.

2. LGBTQ+ couples who want suppliers that understand your identity without needing explanation

Whether you’re two brides, two grooms, a queerplatonic partnership, a throuple, genderqueer, trans, non-binary, poly, or anything in between - this fair was designed so you never have to justify who you are.

3. Straight or straight-presenting to-be-weds who want to support queer businesses

We love you being here. Truly. If you’re a straight couple who actively cares about creating an inclusive environment on your wedding day - for your guests, for marginalised communities, for your suppliers - then this fair is absolutely for you too.

Maybe you’re:

✨ Wanting to hire LGBTQ+ owned or allied businesses

✨ Intentional about building an inclusive wedding day for all your guests

✨ Advocating for a more progressive, welcoming industry

✨ Aware of your privilege and want to uplift marginalised creators

You’re so welcome in this space.

And your presence helps build the industry we all deserve.

Who the Rebel Love Wedding Fair (and Directory) Is Not For

1. Suppliers who don’t believe activism or LGBTQ+ allyship is necessary

If you think “everyone is welcome” is enough… Rebel Love might not be the place for you.Being inclusive isn’t passive. It’s deliberate, ongoing action. Our suppliers understand that silence often protects the oppressor, not the oppressed.

2. Suppliers who aren’t willing to embrace intersectional allyship

Being an LGBTQ+ inclusive business means showing up for queer people who are also Black, Brown, disabled, neurodivergent, trans, fat, working-class, chronically ill, gender non-conforming, and everything in between. If someone doesn’t recognise these intersections, or worse - resists them - then they won’t be a fit for our community.

3. Suppliers who won’t use their privilege, platform, and presence to stand up for oppressed communities

Rebel Love is built on solidarity, not neutrality. We welcome suppliers who are ready to stand beside the LGBTQ+ community - even when it’s uncomfortable, even when others push back, and even when it means doing the work behind the scenes.

If a supplier wants a directory listing without the responsibility of genuine allyship… this isn’t their space.

Because Rebel Love Is More Than a Wedding Fair

It’s a community.

A movement.

A safe space built on queer joy, resistance, and the belief that every couple deserves a wedding experience that feels affirming, freeing, and beautifully authentic.

If you’re a supplier who wants to be part of reshaping the wedding industry - we’d love to welcome you.If you’re here for rainbow stickers without the work - this isn’t the directory for you.

But if your heart is in the work and your values align with justice and you’re committed to uplifting LGBTQ+ love…

Welcome home. 💜
