What do you offer?

I create ceremonies for and with couples that are filled with personal touches and lots of colour. I'm a story teller and a wordsmith at heart, who loves helping bring your ideas to life, and will be a warm, calming and supportive presence throughout your wedding - and beyond!

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

Because everyone has a unique story to tell, and needs to be able to find the right person who will help them do just that. As a queer-owned business, with a strong focus on community, activism and campaigning, you can bet I'm taking every chance to celebrate queer love.

Allyship

I've been consistent in my allyship in all areas of my life. Not only throughout my involvement in local politics, where I was vocal on the issue of trans rights and supported the council's involvement in Cambridge Pride, but also as a celebrant. I also conduct funerals, and have conducted several ceremonies for member of the trans and queer communities; when writing these ceremonies, I've worked hard to make sure they have respected that person's identity. I always want people to know that I provide a safe space for all my clients.

I am making a consistent effort to emphasise and highlight inclusion in my social media; I've talked particularly about LGBTQ+ appropriate death and end of life care, and advocate for this at my local hospice, where I am a volunteer chaplain. Like I say, I've been asked to conduct funerals for members of the LGBTQ+ community - no weddings and namings as yet, but that will happen, I'm sure. I am currently reviewing my website content to reflect this more strongly too. I already make sure in my family and couples quizzes (for namings and weddings) that I don't use hetero-normative language or assumptions.
