Orange Tree Weddings offer Planning & Coordination, along with Design-led, unique, colourful & FUN with a capital 'F' venue styling!

I (Janie) pride myself in having a modern, open-minded and relaxed approach to the world of weddings. Anything goes! Uniqueness is in! I get a kick out of helping kick-ass couples, and believe that every wedding can be as unique as the happy duo themselves.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

I am so F*c*ing excited about Rebel Love!!! As a queer person working in the industry, I have become more and more aware of still seeing the same old language used everywhere. Mr & Mrs, Bride and Groom etc etc.

I want to be part of a community that has moved past this attitude and that stands out as being inclusive. I try to do this in the way I present myself online, but have never found a platform like Rebel Love to enable me to reach LGBTQ+ couples, and although I have planned and styled a handful of queer weddings over the years, most of my enquiries come from cis couples and I'd like this to change because I truly feel safe and more aligned surrounded by my fellow queers and allies! Rebel love is so needed!

Allyship

I am part of a female and NB group of DJ's in Nottingham, and learnt to DJ with Mix Nights, part of Saffron records who are exclusively for women, NB, trans and GNC. They recently struggled financially and I donated and helped fundraise for them. From this, I enjoy being part of a LGBTQ+ dj community & supporting all other LGBTQ+ djs by buying their music, attending their gigs etc.

In my business, I pay attention to the language I use on social media and on my website. I am very non traditional when it comes to the way I style and plan weddings too, and hope this comes across in my work :)
