What do you offer?

I offer fun, chilled-out, colourful wedding photography, for crazy-in-love couples who just want to be themselves! You'll find no cringe here, so get those frozen-smiled, over-posed traditional wedding photos out of your mind, and just relax and let me tell your story.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community and have a wife myself! I've shot a lot of same-sex/queer weddings and my clients have told me they feel really comfortable with me, and can just be themselves, as I 'get it' and don't make things awkward or weird. I got married five years ago, and when we were looking for our own wedding suppliers (around seven years ago), all we got was weirdness and awkwardness when people learnt we were two women. So having been in that position, being inclusive is super important to me!

Allyship

Work-wise, I've made sure that on my website/Instagram/questionnaire forms/etc that I don't use 'bride' and 'groom' - I use 'partner 1' and 'partner 2' instead, so people don't feel unwelcome before they've even got in the door (felt this a lot during planning my own wedding!). I also try to show lots of LGBTQ+ couples on my website, in my brochure, and on social media. I also have a dedicated page on my website showcasing LGBTQ+ weddings. In everyday life (and at work), I'm out and proud about the fact that I'm a lesbian and have a wife, as I think visibility is really important. I try not to assume anyone's sexuality or gender; be sensitive and kind, and ensure if I do make a mistake or trip up, that I learn from it and educate myself.

don't forget to let me know that you found me on Rebel Love Directory!
